Dec. 28, 2014 - Jan. 3, 2015

<b>Lord, </b> as we come to the end of 2014 and begin 2015, there are both feelings of accomplishments and anxiety. Father, sometimes I’m uncertain of the plans that I have made and the ones that I’m planning to make and I’m so thankful that You remind me in this verse that You have a plan for my life. A plan that’s not only perfect but a plan full of protection and prosperity. Lord, as I enter into the future of a new year I’m once again comforted that your plan has already reached into the future of all my tomorrows giving me all the hope that I need. Help me to wait upon You and to look to you for all guidance and wisdom for 2015.
 <br>
All this I pray in Jesus’ precious name. <b>Amen</b>.<br />
<br />
<i>"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."<br />Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)</i>

Teach me to be as trusting as Mary was, so that I can rejoice in hard times as well as good times. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

June 15 - 21, 2014

Heavenly Father, how incredible it is that You, our God, would call us Your children? Father, sometimes we struggle to understand what this all means, especially those of us who have been wounded by our earthly father. May we always view Your incredible love and compassion for us in light of what You did for us by sending Your only Son to die for us. Father, Your adoption of us speaks to Your love and desire for us to spend an eternity with You -- the greatest Father of all; and You even say that we can call You “Daddy”. Lord, help our earthly fathers to be more like You and help us to give them the honor that’s due them. This I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

O Heavenly Father, the One from whom every good and perfect gift comes down, thank You for the gift of our mothers. For the one who conceived, delivered and raised us – sometimes against all odds. They did it through Your strength and grace alone. Lord thank You for hearing their cries and groans through pregnancy and childbirth, for giving them songs in the night as they nurtured infants, wisdom and endurance as they filled roles of wife and mother-and sometimes parenting in the absence of fathers-and honoring their faith as they give their adult children back to You. Give us Lord the words of encouragement, love, affirmation and honor to the ones you’ve given to show us the first example of Your love for us all. Show Your presence in their struggle, and Your favor in their triumph. O Lord, bless all mothers this day - present as well as mothers-to-be in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Jan. 26 - Feb. 1, 2014

Dear Heavenly Father, You are everywhere, and guide everything. You are in my heart, in my mind and in my world. My certainty of Your existence gives me strength, protection, and joy. Your presence and promise are my comfort. Help me live worthy of Your gifts. Amen.

"Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation."

Jan. 19 - 25, 2014

Most gracious Father, we hear the desperate cries of the poor. They are praying to You, and because You have given us ears to hear, they are calling to us as well. Thank You that our gifts can be used to help and empower our brothers and sisters. We so much desire to be disciples of Jesus, Your son, sent to heal the sick, care for the dying, feed the hungry and in all ways infuse Your love in our lives. Thank You for helping us to help others in Jesus Name. Amen.

"Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me’."
Matthew 25:34-36 (ESV)

Jan. 5 - 11, 2014

Gracious, loving God, we have celebrated the birth of Your Son, our Savior, we have put the past year behind us, now we look with anticipation and excitement to the beginning of a new year. We move forward to do the work that is before us, to follow Your will, to do what is pleasing to You. May the New Year be filled with the love and joy of the Holy Spirit as He continues the work which He has begun in and through us. Help us, heavenly Father, to accomplish all that You have planned for us this year in the name of Your Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

"And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ."
Philippians 1:6 (ESV)
