<b>Lord, </b> as we come to the end of 2014 and begin 2015, there are both feelings of accomplishments and anxiety. Father, sometimes I’m uncertain of the plans that I have made and the ones that I’m planning to make and I’m so thankful that You remind me in this verse that You have a plan for my life. A plan that’s not only perfect but a plan full of protection and prosperity. Lord, as I enter into the future of a new year I’m once again comforted that your plan has already reached into the future of all my tomorrows giving me all the hope that I need. Help me to wait upon You and to look to you for all guidance and wisdom for 2015.

O Father, from Whom every good and perfect gift comes, thank You for the ultimate gift for all mankind... The Savior, Christ the Lord! Thank You that the news proclaimed to those shepherds is always worth celebrating from every hill and valley. Gracious God, we thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ. As we reflect on this season, grant that His light might shine through us, in our families and in our work places. Dispel the darkness of malice, envy, bitterness and unforgiveness and let the splendor of His everlasting light shine through us. In His most precious name we pray, Amen.

Dec. 7 - 13, 2014

God all loving, all powerful, all merciful and all wise. I rely on You for everything. The more I put my trust in You the more I rejoice and sing as Mary did. You go before me to prepare my path as You did for Mary, the mother of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Help me in these days of Advent to rest in Your faithfulness. Teach me to be as trusting as Mary was, so that I can rejoice in hard times as well as good times. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the faith of the Blessed Mother of our Lord and Savior, who realized before she even gave birth the truth in the name “Immanuel”, God with us...You are with us! In the most fearful, improbable, and impossible circumstances, You are there! Lord impart to us that same trusting faith and let Your word be first and last no matter how difficult the situation. Lord God, Our Father, we thank You so much for those who daily imitate the sacrificial love of Our Savior whether they are standing watch on a military assignment, or a wounded veteran who gave up part of themselves to defend our freedom. We pray for their protection, peace and the strength of their faith. We also remember our first responders here at home and our missionaries who all risk their lives and livelihood for their fellow man. Bless and embolden them for the task at hand and provide for their families in their absence, in Jesus’ Name.Amen.

Holy Lord, thank You that when I come into Your presence, I need not fear evil, darkness or anything in the world around me. In You is light and no darkness at all! Heavenly Father, how incredible it is that You, our God, would call us Your children? Father, sometimes we struggle to understand what this all means, especially those of us who have been wounded by our earthly father. O Heavenly Father, the One from whom every good and perfect gift comes down, thank You for the gift of our mothers. For the one who conceived, delivered and raised us – sometimes against all odds. They did it through Your strength and grace alone. Most gracious Father, we hear the desperate cries of the poor. They are praying to You, and because You have given us ears to hear, they are calling to us as well. Thank You that our gifts can be used to help and empower our brothers and sisters. We so much desire to be disciples of Jesus, Your son, sent to heal the sick, care for the dying, feed the hungry and in all ways infuse Your love in our lives. Thank You for helping us to help others in Jesus Name. Amen.

Gracious, loving God, we have celebrated the birth of Your Son, our Savior, we have put the past year behind us, now we look with anticipation and excitement to the beginning of a new year. We move forward to do the work that is before us, to follow Your will, to do what is pleasing to You. May the New Year be filled with the love and joy of the Holy Spirit as He continues the work which He has begun in and through us. Help us, heavenly Father, to accomplish all that You have planned for us this year in the name of Your Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
