April 27 - May 3, 2014

Almighty and Eternal God, Creator of Heaven and Earth, Source of all goodness I thank You for the different seasons in my life. May I be reminded that after winter comes spring; after the night comes the day; after the great storm, clear and pleasant weather shines through again; after Good Friday, Easter Sunday! Lord, let me hold on to Your promise that 'joy cometh in the morning' In Jesus name I pray.

"For you shall go out in joy and be led back in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall burst into song, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands."
Isaiah 55:12 (NRSV)

April 20 - 26, 2014

Jesus, You are risen from the dead, You are alive! Because You live, my Lord, I can face tomorrow. Because You live, my Lord, all fear is gone. You have my future in Your Hands and I thank You. Help me to know and appreciate the awesome mysteries of the redemption you have won for me. Instill Your Divine love in me that I might love others with the love You have shown me by the power of Your Holy Spirit to the glory of my heavenly Father. Alleluia! Alleluia!

"We have been buried with Him by baptism into death so that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life."
Romans 6:4 (NRSV)

April 13 - 19, 2014

My Savior and Redeemer, , let me not dread to carry the cross You have chosen for me. In this Holy week, let my cross be joined with Yours, Lord, so that come Easter morn, Alleluias will echo and resound because death has been conquered and victory has been revealed in the cross! In You is health, in You is life, in You is strength of mind, joy of spirit, hope for salvation and everlasting life. In Your precious and Holy Name I pray, Amen.

"If any want to become my follower, let them deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me."
Luke 9:23 (NRSV)

April 6 - 12, 2014

Come Holy Spirit and teach me ways that I can have a servant’s heart. In this Lenten season fill me lord with Your love and grace to surrender all. Jesus, change my heart to be more like Yours. I want to serve rather than be served and to love rather than be loved. Let me be last so that You and Your gospel may be first in my life. In Jesus name I pray.

"The Son of man did not come to be served but to serve."
Mathew 20-28 (EV

March 30 - April 5, 2014

My Lord, and my God how I love Thee! I give You my entire being, Amen and Amen.

"I remember the days of old; I meditate on all that you have done; I ponder the work of your hands. I stretch out my hands to you; my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. Answer me quickly, O Lord. My spirit fails! Hide not your face from me, lest I be like those who go down to the pit. Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul."
Psalm 143:5-8 (ESV)

March 23 - 29, 2014

Heavenly Father, in this Lenten season, grant me the grace to be submissive to Your holy will. Joseph and Mary are inspirational examples of not my will but Your will be done. Thank You, Father, for the example that Joseph is for us today. Teach me to respond with the same obedience and faithfulness. May my yes to Your will today be something that inspires future generations, in Jesus name I pray. Amen.

"When Joseph awoke, he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him"
Matthew 1:24 EV

March 16 - 22, 2014

Lord, , I thank You for being a God of love and mercy! In You there is no desire for revenge, hatred or pleasure in seeing me punished. I know You want to forgive, heal, restore and show me Your endless mercy. Help me Lord to choose to do the same for my loved ones, neighbors and coworkers so that I can truly experience the freedom that comes from extending and receiving love and mercy. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

"Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your steadfast love; according to Your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin."
Psalm 51:1-2 (RSV)

March 9 - 15, 2014

O God, , my Creator and Redeemer, help me this Lent to grow in awareness and appreciation of Your love for me. Open my eyes to see You in all the joys, disappointments, sorrows, pain and bitter circumstances of my life. Help me recognize Your unending love and abiding presence as I daily meditate on Your passion. I adore You as I give you thanks and praise in Jesus name. Amen.

"Yet even now, says the Lord, return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning; rend your hearts and not your clothing. Return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and relents from punishing."
Joel 2:12-13 (RSV)

Week of March 4 -10, 2012

Precious heavenly Father, as we reflect on Your word, You tell us that You alone are the author of perfection. Use us to fulfill Your will regardless of our past. We know, Lord, that without You we can bear no fruit. Prune away our flaws and anything that would stand in the way of praising and honoring You. Even through our difficult times, help us, Father, to understand how meaningful it is to be in a real relationship with You. It is only through Your mercy and grace that we can receive Your gift of eternal life in Your presence. Continue to shower us with Your love, and guide us to be branches that bear the fruit of Your love for others, especially those who do not yet know of Your love. We ask all this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.”

John 15:5 (NIV)
