May 25 - 31, 2014

Lord, in the pain and suffering of this life, use me to receive and give consolation to those grieving, sick, in despair and especially for the wounded soldiers and the families of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Although I cannot take the pain away give me the grace of consolation to hear You say "you are not alone, I am with you”. I thank You, my Lord and my God, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

"In my distress I called upon the Lord; to my God I cried for help. From His temple He heard my voice, and my cry to Him reached His ears."
Psalm 18:6 (NRSV)

May 18 - 24, 2014

God, our Father, we hold on to the promises in Your word that no matter the circumstance, no matter the situation, no matter how many tears we shed, You promise that joy will come in the morning. We are sometimes so immersed in our own problems we fail to look to You, the Author and the Finisher of our faith. Forgive us, Lord, when we see disappointments and failures bigger than You are, when we think You have forgotten us, Your favor is for life because Your word says it. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

"For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning."
Psalm 30:5 (NKJ)

May 11 - 17, 2014

O Heavenly Father, the One from whom every good and perfect gift comes down, thank You for the gift of our mothers. For the one who conceived, delivered and raised us – sometimes against all odds. They did it through Your strength and grace alone. Lord thank You for hearing their cries and groans through pregnancy and childbirth, for giving them songs in the night as they nurtured infants, wisdom and endurance as they filled roles of wife and mother-and sometimes parenting in the absence of fathers-and honoring their faith as they give their adult children back to You. Give us Lord the words of encouragement, love, affirmation and honor to the ones you’ve given to show us the first example of Your love for us all. Show Your presence in their struggle, and Your favor in their triumph. O Lord, bless all mothers this day - present as well as mothers-to-be in Jesus’ name, Amen.

"Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 'Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all'."
Proverbs 31:28-29 (ESV)

May 4 - 10, 2014

Lord, , my days grow older and wise counsel is more important to me now. Keep me safe in Your arms. When I was young, I thought I knew it all and now I know, that I know nothing except what the Lord has placed on my heart. God give me wisdom to seek my answers in You. Help me from acting hastily and foolishly before You Lord. I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

"Better is a poor and wise youth than an old and foolish king who no longer knows how to receive counsel (friendly reproof and warning)."
Ecclesiastes 4:13 (AMP)
