Week of November 29

Thank you, Father, for loving and forgiving me. Lord, remind me to show my appreciation for Your gift of mercy, by extending that same loving and selfless forgiveness to people who have wronged me. May I express my gratitude, Lord, by letting go of the burdens of blaming and judging others. Please find any bitterness that exists in my heart and put love there. I know I must forgive and even love those who have done me harm. This is essential for my salvation. Father, give me all the strength and resolve it will take for me to make love and forgiveness the way of my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

"Mercy triumphs over judgment."

Week of November 22

My Lord and My God, I am filled with gratitude and excitement as I start this new day. I look forward to all the ways that You will be present to me: in the glowing morning sunrise; in the beauty of nature; in the members of my family and the people I will meet; in the work that I will carry out. I am open to all that awaits me. I accept all that comes my way today as a blessing and gift from You. I pray for Your guidance now, that I will be where I need to be, work as hard as I possibly can, and do what I need to do to accomplish Your will in my life. In this Thanksgiving holiday season, I want to thank You, dear Lord, for all the many graces I have been given to help me on my journey towards holiness. I give You thanks and praise. Amen.

“God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that you may share abundantly in every good work.”

Week of November 15

O God, we come to You this morning in praise. We come to You from our many and varied life circumstances. Some of us are happy this morning; some of us are hurting. No matter who we are, no matter where we are in life and in faith – You are with us, for we are Your children, whom You love.

Life is not a walk to You; it is a walk with You. You are beside us every step of the way. We have only to turn our faces toward You to receive Your grace, which You freely offer to us.

Father, help us this day to be right with You; to be face to face with You; to accept the love and grace You offer, and to freely give Your love to those whom we will meet today. This we pray, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

"What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, 'Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,' but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead."

(James 2:14-17, NIV)

Prayer for Our Military Personnel

Lord, God our Creator and Father, hold our troops in Your loving hands. Bless them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. We ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Week of November 1

Dear Lord, You made us for lives in families and in community. What I say and do reveals who I am as a follower of Christ. I am to be Your hands and feet in the world today. What a tremendous responsibility, but also a tremendous opportunity to share Your spirit of love, compassion, and justice with others. May I embody all that You want me to be. Be my source of grace as I go about my work today. I ask all of this in Your holy name. Amen.

“…The love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.”
